Cre8 Crepes Offers Hand-Held Custom Crêpes & Ice Cream

Cre8 Crepes is a unique dessert shop that opened pre-pandemic at 6654 Hollywood Boulevard, just west of Cherokee Avenue. It is located across the street from Musso & Frank Grill, Hollywood’s oldest restaurant. The store’s main attraction is made-to-order, hand-held crêpes that can be customized with a wide variety of fillings. This enduring tenant has proved popular with locals and tourists seeking sweet treats while strolling along the Walk of Fame.

Taking over the space formerly occupied by Skooby’s Hot Dogs, Cre8 Crepes opened in May 2016.

The red-hued storefront features a glass door, a stainless-steel counter, and a large window to attract customers. To the right of the window, some of the crêpes are displayed on shelves so that customers can see what the finished products look like. Customers can place their orders at the walk-up window.

Due to the pandemic, customers are not allowed inside the tiny shop. But the indoor counter has glass partitions so that customers can see the employees building the crêpes. Once the fillings are placed, each crêpe is rolled into a funnel shape and served in a paper sleeve. Cre8 Crepes is strictly a grab-and-go business as seating is not available.

Customers who choose to create their own crêpes can select up to four fillings (two of the four can be fruits, maximum) for the price of $8.50, plus tax. Extra fillings are $0.75 to $2 each. There is an impressive assortment of fillings to choose from: five fruits, four spreads, twelve toppings, and four sauces. A scoop of ice cream can be added to a crêpe for an extra $1.00.

Ice cream without a crêpe is also available. Customers can choose one scoop for $4.85 or two scoops for $6.25. The ice cream is served either in a cup or a waffle cone, which is included in the price. The available flavors are chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. An ice cream sundae with one scoop is $8.50, plus tax, and includes up to four toppings. A second scoop can be added to a sundae for an extra $1.00.

Other treats on the menu include brownies ($2.00), cheesecake ($2.00), and Pocky sticks ($1.00 for two sticks). Any of these options can be rolled into a crêpe.

In addition to “Cre8 Your Own Taste,” the menu features a wide variety of “Signature Crepes.” The “Signature Crepes” range in price from $8.50 to $10. Besides favorites such as “Piña Colada” ($9.50), “S’mores” ($8.50), and “PB&J” ($8.50), there are some unique options. One example is the “Turtle” ($9.50), which consists of chocolate sauce, Oreo pieces, caramel sauce, whipped cream, and chocolate ice cream. “The Original” ($9.50) has strawberries, banana, Nutella, whipped cream, and chocolate ice cream.

Cre8 Crepes is adjacent to Andy Cohen’s star on the Walk of Fame. The star for the television talk show host and producer was dedicated in the television category on February 4, 2022. To commemorate the day, Cre8 Crepes created a special crêpe called the Andy Cohen Nutty Crepe. It consisted of whipped cream, peanut butter, chocolate chips, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, and two chocolate Pocky sticks.

The menu also includes soft drinks. A&W root beer, Coca-Cola, and Sprite are available for $2.00 per can. Other options include coffee ($3.00), tea ($3.00), hot cocoa ($4.25), and bottled water ($2.00). The Root Beer Float and Coke Float are $6.50 each.

The store is open Monday and Thursday from 4:00pm to 10:00pm, Friday and Saturday from 4:00pm to 12:00am, and Sunday from 3:00pm to 10:00pm. Cre8 Crepes is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Cre8 Crepes is an innovative counter-serve crêpe shop that is perfect for people looking for grab-and-go desserts. The company has differentiated itself through both the product and the experience. This extraordinary tenant diversifies the Hollywood landscape and provides a source of sweet treats to the neighborhood.
